Using Tweetdeck for #VASLChat (or any other Twitter Chat)
Tweetdeck makes doing a Twitter chat easy!
STEP 1: Go to Tweetdeck and log in using your Twitter account (Tweetdeck is owned by Twitter so the login process is easy and seamless)
STEP 2: After you sign in, click the PLUS sign to ADD COLUMN (see RED "Add Column" in screencap below)
I recommend setting up 3 columns for Twitter chats:
STEP 1: Go to Tweetdeck and log in using your Twitter account (Tweetdeck is owned by Twitter so the login process is easy and seamless)
STEP 2: After you sign in, click the PLUS sign to ADD COLUMN (see RED "Add Column" in screencap below)
I recommend setting up 3 columns for Twitter chats:
Column 1: NOTIFICATIONS This is so that I see when someone responds to my tweets, asks a question directly to me, likes my tweets, etc. |
Column 2: HASHTAG SEARCH ie: #vaslchat -- this is where I put in the hashtag for the chat so that I can see the whole conversation as it happens. |
Column 3: USER ie: @vaslchat -- this is where I put the HOST of the chat so that I can see each question as it comes up. |
STEP 3: To participate in the chat, type your tweet into the big white "What's happening?" box on the left.
During #vaslchat, we always post the guidelines as part of each chat so that people understand how the chat works. So, for example, if @vaslchat posts the first question: Q1: What’s your favorite color? #vaslchat I would respond (by typing in the white box, remember?): A1: My favorite color is orange! #vaslchat |
#VASLchat is hosted by me (@libraryms) and Krissy Ronan (@GCMLibrary). We are happy to help YOU in any way we can!
